The Viceroys - Maga Down | Yakka - Maga Dub 7" Poor Man's Friend Records
£12.95This next heavy roots reggae cut comes courtesy of The Viceroys, the legendary harmony group from the stables of the world renowned Studio 1. First recording for the venerable Mr Dodd in 1967 The Viceroys were instrumental in moving the sound from rocksteady to reggae with early hits like “Ya Ho” and “Love & Unity” .
The A side of this weighty 45 is a revisited vocal from the early days of the group, a haunting, smokey rendition of their early hit Maga Down. Drawing musical influences from Ethiopian and Cuban music as well as its obvious early reggae basis this record sounds fresh whilst simultaneously transporting you back to the golden era with its warm nostalgic themes. The flip side is an ethereal dub mix from the Bristol based Yakka, an almost psychedelic journey into the mixing board bringing out the best of the vintage sound pallet. This is the third release from us at Poor Man's Friend Records, produced in the Poor Man's Friend studio and voiced in Jamaica only 300 copies were pressed of this smoked out ode to the golden era. -

Fela Kuti - Shakara (50th Anniversary Edition) Knitting Factory Records
£25.99Shakara is the 6th in the series of celebratory Fela 50th Anniversary reissues. Like its predecessors in the series, this version will be on color vinyl and the LP will be wrapped in a gold foil obi strip with a brief essay on the album and Fela's global impact on music. Like Fela's other early 70's releases, he used each side of his LPs to create a deep groove that pulls the listener in and follows with metaphoric lyrics that call out and critique the corrupt hangover of colonialism. The album is the sound of Afrobeat's maturation as a global music. Fela's Pidgin English lyrics extend his music's audience beyond Yoruba speakers and make his words understandable across the Anglophone world. In "Lady," Fela highlights the adoption of European social habits to the detriment of African culture. "Shakara" is a mainly instrumental track, with a brief lyric, sung in Yoruba, warning against boasters and braggarts. The song pacing is festive and typically up tempo, with boisterous horn arrangements, with strong solos from Fela on keyboards and the fearsome Igo Chico on tenor saxophone. This 50th anniversary edition is pressed on limited edition pink vinyl, with a gold foil obi strip, and is packaged with a yellow 7" featuring covers of "Lady" and "Shakara" by London band Ezra Collective. -
Fela Kuti - Roforofo Fight (50th Anniversary Edition) Knitting Factory Records
£25.99By 1972, when Music of Fela: Roforofo Fight was originally released (on two vinyl albums, Music of Fela Volume One and Volume Two), Fela was becoming one of the most avidly followed musicians in West Africa. His audience came from among the region's urban poor, the ""sufferheads"" living in the shanty towns around the major cities, along with growing numbers of students and political dissenters. Fela championed, and sang about the problems of, oppressed and exploited people and denounced the ruling elites lording it over them, with their seemingly endemic corruption and their ready use of violence to crush dissent. Because he generally sang in Broken English rather than Yoruba, and adopted an increasingly pan-Africanist outlook, his message resonated throughout Anglophone Africa. The 50th-anniversary reissue of Roforofo Fight is pressed on double orange & green vinyl. Side D features singles "Shenshema" and "Ariya" on vinyl for the first time. The two tracks were originally released as a 7" single in 1972 and later featured in the CD reissue of "Roforofo Fight / The Fela Singles"". -
Fela Kuti - Gentleman (50th Anniversary Edition) LP Knitting Factory Records (Pre-Order)
£22.99Pre-order!
50th Anniversary reissue. Like its predecessors in the series, this version will be available on exclusive colored vinyl (Igbo Smoke) and the LP will be wrapped in a gold foil obi strip with a brief essay on the album and Fela's global impact on music. Like Fela's other early 70's releases, he used each side of his LPs to create a deep groove that pulls the listener in and follows with metaphoric lyrics that call out and critique the corrupt hangover of colonialism.
Gentleman is the last of Fela's early 1970s albums recorded with the Africa 70. The title track can be interpreted literally or as a metaphor concerning a wider issue. Fela deftly addresses the colonialism-induced, inferiority complex which led many in Africa's new governing elites to reject African style, concepts of beauty, and modes of behavior in favor of European imports. Gentleman's other tracks, ""Fefe Naa Efe"" and ""Igbe,” have more direct, less metaphorical lyrics. On ""Fefe Naa Efe,” an Ashanti motto from Ghana, Fela tells a woman dumped by her boyfriend that she must get over the heartache and move on. On ""Igbe”, Fela declares that anyone who betrays a friend is shit, and that anybody who lacks self-respect is shit - something you want to expel from your body as soon as possible. He sings the word ""shit"" in several Nigerian languages, so there is no misunderstanding. -
Marcia Griffiths - Essential Artist Collection (Gatefold 2LP/2CD) Trojan Records
£28.99Arguably the greatest female singer in the history of Jamaican music, Marcia Griffiths first made her mark the Jamaican music scene with a number of popular singles during the late Sixties, before finding international fame in 1970 alongside her long-term friend and sometime collaborator, Bob Andy.Bob and Marcia’s uplifting reggae version of Nina Simone’s inspiring song, ‘(To Be) Young, Gifted & Black’ hit number 5 in the UK pop chart, with the single proving to be the first of two British chartbusters, with their exuberant interpretation of Pied Piper’ just missing out on a Top 10 placing the following year.Soon after, Marcia became a member of Bob Marley’s famed backing group, the I-Threes, while also continuing to enjoy solo success with numerous Jamaican hits for a variety of record producers throughout the remainder of the Seventies and well beyond. And it is the very best of her solo work that features on this ‘Essential Artist’ compilation, the latest release in Trojan Records’ newly launched range that showcases the work of Jamaica’s best-loved ‘foundation’ artists.Available as a 28-track double vinyl LP and a comprehensive 2CD compilation, the collection expertly demonstrates just why Marcia Griffiths is today widely regarded as a Jamaican legend. -

Fred Locks - The Missing Link CD VP Records
£12.99The story behind this album--released in 2000 but recorded in 1978--is nearly Biblical: a tale of optimism, lost hope, and finally redemption that's fitting for its roots reggae/Rasta consciousness theme. In 1976, Vulcan released Fred Locks's debut set, "Black Star Liners." The album became a reggae classic, its title tune--a Garveyite view of repatriation--an anthem. With producer Hugh "Jah Shoes" Boothe, Locks recorded a follow-up set in '78. But Vulcan folded, and neither Boothe nor Locks had the cash to release the album, which was then abandoned. Over the next 20 years an original tape was lost, others damaged. Then, years later, the missing cassette surfaced, and the tapes were restored.
The line-up of musicians is stellar, including Jahlovemuzik's celebrated Albert Malawi on drums and Pablove Black on keyboards and backup vocals, and "Rastafari Rule" and "The Only One" (and its dub) are standouts on this fine album and piece of reggae history.

John Holt - Essential Artist Collection (Gatefold Double Vinyl LP/2CD) Trojan Records
£28.9950 Track CD / 28 Track gatefold double transparent orange vinyl album.
After fronting popular Jamaican vocal trio the Paragons on a succession of best-selling rock steady singles during the late Sixties, John Holt went on to become one of Jamaica’s most popular solo performers, scoring a series of reggae hits for many of the island’s leading record producers.
His international breakthrough came in 1974 with the hugely popular ‘1000 Volts of Holt’ album, which fused raw reggae rhythms with sophisticated orchestral arrangements.
The highlight of the long-player was a reworking of Kris Kristoffersson’s country hit, ‘Help Me Make It Through The Night’, which the following year became a global hit, with the single, peaking at Number 6 in the UK charts. Over the years that followed, Holt remained a giant of the reggae scene with further best sellers and numerous sell-out shows around the world.
The very best of his solo work has been brought together on this ‘Essential Artist’ compilation, the latest release in Trojan Records’ newly launched range that showcases the work of Jamaica’s best-loved ‘foundation’ artists.
Available as a 28-track double vinyl LP and a comprehensive 2CD compilation, the collection superbly illustrates the talent that made John Holt one of the reggae music’s most popular and enduring singers.

Night Owls - I Only Have Eyes For You (feat. Chris Dowd & Tippa Lee) 7" F-Spot Records
£12.99(United States Import 45)
Raising the bar yet again, Night Owls' first single of 2023 lays yet another set of classic soul songs on you, flipped into the band's signature style. On Side A we find The Flamingo's beloved Doo-Wop/soul hit from 1959, "I Only Have Eyes For You," re-imagined to wind your waistline with Night Owls' longtime friend and collaborator - the one-and-only Chris Dowd from Los Angeles' legendary Fishbone on vocals. Known for tunes like "Pouring Rain" and "Everyday Sunshine" Dowd brings his signature soul drenched delivery with a hint of rude boy grit to match the rhythmic and tonal stylings of the group. Wanting to take things to the next level, producer Dan Ubick called in veteran underground Jamaican legend Tippa Lee (Stones Throw, Dub Club, Jammy's, Greensleeves, etc.) to sprinkle his magic rasta dust on top and deejay/toast on the track and the results are burning hot.
But wait, that's not all!! On Side B we find the beloved beat diggers classic "Live And Let Live," originally performed by Jimmy Jones in 1970 on Deke Records out of Chicago. For the Fender Rhodes-driven reggaefied version here, Night Owls roped in another longtime friend - Los Angeles kingpin and mover ’n' shaker, "Music Man" Miles Tackett to add his soulful vocals to the track and it's as buttery as cornbread from Cracker Barrel! Tackett is the mastermind behind globe-trotting funk/soul collective Breakestra (of which Night Owl Dan Ubick was a member) and legendary weekly L.A. dance parties like Funky Sole, Root Down and The Breaks. This side also includes Destani Wolf, who many will remember was featured on Night Owls’ version of “Let’s Stay Together”, providing the beautiful ‘verbed out backing vocals. -
Cosmic Shuffling - Cosmic Quest LP | CD Fruits Records
£22.99In a booming Swiss rocksteady and ska scene, COSMIC SHUFFLING is once again affirming itself as a rising star of the genre on a intergalactic scale. The band's first album, MAGIC ROCKET SHIP, released in the midst of the pandemic, was a huge hit with fans of the Jamaican sound of the 1960s. Three years later, the Geneva-based septet is back in force with a new album, COSMIC QUEST, featuring eleven vocal tracks ranging from fiery ska worthy of the best years of the Skatalites and Soul Brothers ('Eclipse', 'Walk On By'), to exquisitely melancholy rocksteady ballads ('Birds of Spring', 'Dusk Till Dawn'), to bright early reggae with a touch of 1950s mento ('By The Rivers').Fans of vintage sound will be delighted by the sound of this new album elaborated in the raw and warm aesthetics of analog saturation that made the beauty of the golden age of Jamaican music. Under the guidance of Swiss producer Mathias Liengme, the renowned Spanish sound engineer Roberto Sánchez has mixed this superb opus with class and character. The sound is just like the cover of the album: against a lunar backdrop, in the glowing light of the setting sun, Cosmic Shuffling’s magnificent seven delight the hearts of the convinced as well as the undecided with the exhilarating sound of their irresistibly danceable Cosmic Quest. Java Java Java Java (Vinyl LP) Get On Down
£19.99Dub as we know it begins here.Prior to 1973, there existed in Jamaica instrumental takes of songs—B-sides that were labeled “versions” —and vocal-less acetates produced as one-offs for sound systems to give their mic men something to toast over. But there was nothing that fit the radical mixing board athleticism and psychedelic soundscapes that are the trademarks of dub music. By the end of that year, however, the story had radically changed. Lee Perry's Rhythm Shower and Upsetters 14 Dub, aka Blackboard Jungle, Herman Chin-Loy's Aquarius Dub and Prince Buster's The Message Dubwise had all appeared on the scene, each to varying degrees exemplifying dub's radical take-off on the instrumental concept. However, it may have been Java Java Java Java, that broke the first ground. “To my knowledge,” producer Clive Chin confirms, “and I'm telling this from a true fact, at the time it came out there was no other album like it.”Although the debate will probably continue for as long as scholars of Jamaican music exist, there is no doubt that Java Java Java Java is one of the foundations of dub music. -
Augustus Pablo meets King Tubby - The Messenger LP Griffiths Records
£19.99"Their first album together Ital Dub is a classic. The later King Tubby Meets The Rockers Uptown is more than that, it is legendary. And now The Messenger is upon us, an album cut at some point in the 70s and which remained in the vaults. Should it have stayed there? No way. This is music that upholds the very high stars of their past, music which fires itself on imagination and strength, a collusion and collaboration of immense proportions, music that provides and creates moods with such purpose and drive. Pablo’s melodica is centre stage but is counterpointed by contagious rhythms and touches of inspiration as horns and bass lines mesh in and out of view, held down by an ever steady barrage of sturdy drums and bass and a never ceasing source of imaginative and delightful sounds. The sound constantly changes and because it does the album contains a staggering array of moods, from upbeat into deep waters. The Messenger is forward music, still sounding as fresh as it did on the day of its conception. And it will do so for time eternal.” -

L' Entourloop - La Clarté Dans La Confusion (2LP) X-Ray Productions
£24.99Double Vinyl LP (2xLP)Unstoppable elders of the L'Entourloop collective, King James and Sir Johnny are proud to present their long-awaited third and newalbum La Clarté Dans la Confusion (Clarity in Confusion). Produced in their now legendary Bandulu Studio, the 20 tracks of this new album are the result of a patient production process, carried out with care and passion. Throughout the album, L'Entourloop testifies in its own way via a puzzle of film samples, of this strange period that we have just gone through collectively, using all its savoir faire when it comes to make the people dance.
Since 1964, when the song "My Boy Lollipop" flooded the European radio airwaves, L'Entourloop’s love for reggae and its culture has never stopped growing. With this third album, they wanted to pay tribute to the legendary pioneers of this incredible movement – artists and producers such as Tom Wong, Count Machuki, Prince Buster and Lee "Scratch" Perry. An album which is a true declaration of love for soundsystem culture and its children - reggae, dancehall and hip-hop.
With no less than 32 guests from all over the world, MCs fling lyrics like guns like in a western movie and the new album is no exception! On the reggae side, Jamaican legends such as Ken Boothe and Bounty Killer meet new generation stars such as Alborosie, Kabaka Pyramid, Queen Omega and Marcus Gad. On the hip-hop side Chali 2Na from legendary US group Jurassic 5, Swedish MC Promoe from Looptroop Rockers, US rapper Rêverie, the excellent JuJu Rogers, French beatmaker Degiheugi and the irresistible South African female rapper Dope St Jude all make appearances. The UK vibe can also be felt with features from jungle and dancehall pioneers General Levy and Tippa Irie as well as heavyweights of the grime scene Flowdan, Lady Chann and Killa P. Fellow French artists are also in the spotlight with guests such as Big Red, O.B.F and Manudigital. To complete this amazing cast, L'Entourloop has once again called on the incomparable Troy Berkley from Bermuda and the talented trumpeter N'Zeng, formerly of Le Peuple de l'Herbe, to accompany the collective on the road alongwith a new addition - excellent Dutch rapper BlabberMouf, who has just joined the killer new live show.

Afrikan Simba - Power In The Word EP 12" Jahtari
£13.99After Afrikan Smiba's "Alternative Power" (from the Jahtarian Dubbers Vol 1 comp) has been in heavy circulation around the globe since longtime - incl. opening the Mary Anne Hobbs show two times - this deep 12" was certainly one of the most awaited Jahtari releases ever.Always floor faves during dances, Simba's unique, powerful vibe and strong spiritual forcefield are pushing these epic tracks to the red area on the dubness scale while Rootah'svoltage-drenched production is exploring the remote corners of vast reverb landscapes and oversized scoops alike.Better galvanize your turntables quickly, for this wax comes in extra-heavy.Mastering by Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin.Release date: 17. September 2009 -
El Michels Affair & Black Thought - Glorious Game / Grateful 7" Vinyl Big Crown Records
£9.99El Michels Affair & Black Thought treat us to an unstoppable new 45. Pulling two standout tunes from their new 'Glorious Game' album. The A side features the album's title track "Glorious Game", a bouncy, in the pocket tune that lands somewhere between G Funk and Outkast's Spottieottiedopealicious. Black Thought raps about trials of fame and respect but also being the best version of oneself while balanced by patience. KIRBY jumps in on the chorus with her distinct voice and luscious melodies putting the song comfortably at home in the speakers of a Cadillac. The B Side "Grateful" is a thick, low-end banger with a haunting flute line, and a sample of Shabba Ranks "Ting-A-Ling" that sends the message that class is in session. Black Thought's verses lay heavy in the way we've come to love: cadences that walk a line between street teacher and poet, explanation and experience. He pays homage to what's come before him and how it's made him with lines like "I guess the moral of the story is, any sip you pour me is, a toast to the warriors who bit the dust before me, kid." Die hard fans may also recognise the instrumental from the late great Virgil Abloh's Louis Vuitton 2022 Fashion Show video. -

Burial - Antidawn EP 12" Vinyl Hyperdub
£18.99Antidawn reduces Burial’s music to just the vapours. The record explores an interzone between dislocated, patchwork songwriting and eerie, open-world, game space ambience. In the resulting no man's land, lyrics take precedence over song, lonely phrases colour the haze, a stark and fragmented structure makes time slow down.Antidawn seems to tell a story of a wintertime city, and something beckoning you to follow it into the night. The result is both comforting and disturbing, producing a quiet and uncanny glow against the cold. Sometimes, as it enters 'a bad place', it takes your breath away. And time just stops. -
Burial - Claustro / State Forest EP 12" Vinyl Hyperdub
£11.99In a 2007 interview with The Wire, Burial revealed that "Archangel," arguably his best-known track, was inspired by the death of his dog. As part of the Burial mythology, the detail feels almost quaint, even darkly comic. Burial, after all, is an artist credited with soundtracking the melancholy of not just his London hometown, but that of an entire disassociated generation. On Claustro / State Forest, he moves further away from the eerie sadness of "Archangel" while returning to the UK garage shuffle that drove it forwards. Here, the South Londoner explores a set of emotions that are trickier to decipher, but no less satisfying.Arriving two years after his last solo record, "Claustro" is a banger. But that description masks how weird it actually is. Burial deploys a high-tempo 2-step beat and looping R&B refrain (Googling the lyrics provided no answers as to the sample). Such parts should be recognisable to anyone familiar with the first two Burial albums, but then an ungainly synth melody begins. The hi-hats become more furious, the beat stretching and struggling to keep up until what feels like the point of collapse. The track is tense for most of its five minutes, until it ends on an emotional curveball of goofy chipmunk vocals and a cornball, mid-'90s trance melody. This coda recalls the tongue-in-cheek sentimentalism of "Hiders," albeit lodged firmly in the hardcore continuum."State Forest" picks up where the gloomy ambient textures of "Subtemple / Beachfires" left off. A mournful tone rings across a foggy atmosphere of echoey clicks, distant field recordings and layered, reverb-drenched synths. For all the video game samples Burial has used over his 15-year career (most famously from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty), "State Forest" is perhaps the closest he's come to realising a plausible video game soundscape. There are small details buried in the mix—the flick of a Zippo lighter, the exhale of breath—which suggest a narrative. The end of the track slowly builds to a mini-crescendo, the vocals mixing with what sound like wind chimes and other delicate frequencies. It feels like Burial's usual London-centric outlook has been swapped for something harder to place.Claustro / State Forest twists familiar aspects of Burial's output—slippery, R&B-inflected rhythms and impressionistic mood pieces—into subtly augmented shapes. It lacks the cohesion of some of his most successful post-Untrue releases (Rival Dealer, Truant), but once the vinyl crackle stops, we're left adrift, the echoes of Burial's soundworld ringing throughout our own. -

Lula Côrtes (Lula E Lailson) - Satwa CD Mr. Bongo
£13.99The music is a succession of ragas and mantras, powered by incense, magic mushrooms and other "mental muscle expanders," recorded live at the Rozenblit Studios, Recife, between 20 and 31 January 1973.With a limited edition and distribution mainly regional, the disc disappeared almost as soon emerged, making it another Holy Grail record alongside Paebiru. -
Marconi Notaro – No Sub Reino Dos Metazoários CD Mr. Bongo
£12.99‘No Sub Reino dos Metazoários’ is the first and only record by musician and poet Marconi Notaro, out of Pernambuco, Brazil. Originally released independently, however, with the support and distribution of Rozenblit, the 1973 album featuring Lula Cortes, Zé Ramalho and Robertinho de Recife is part of the holy trilogy of «Psicodelia Nordestina» amongst the equally mindblowing Paebiru (1975) and Satwa (1973). -
Soul Jazz Records presents ‘Studio One Space-Age Dub Special’ 2LP/CD Soul Jazz Studio One
£26.99• ‘Studio One Space-Age Dub Special’ is a brand new Studio One release on Soul Jazz Records which draws on more rare and classic dubs taken from the mighty vaults of Studio One Records.• Most of these tracks are taken from Studio One’s superb long out-of-print series of dub albums released between 1974 and 1980, such as ‘Zodiac Sounds’, ‘Ital Sounds and System’, ‘Roots Dub’, ‘Dub Store Special’, ‘Juks Incorporation’ and others. Many of these classic dub albums were originally released only in Jamaica in shortrun pressings with special silk-screen printed sleeves, all with striking minimal designs, and which now fetch many, many hundreds of pounds.• These tracks, credited to the Dub Specialist, use the original music tracks to seminal Studio One rhythms, which are broken down, reconstructed, and manipulated using the studio mixing desk as an instrument. With these albums, producer Clement Dodd and engineer Sylvan Morris helped create some of the finest dubs ever known.• The cover shows Clement ‘Sir Coxsone’ Dodd in orbit, an image inspired by DJ Lone Ranger‘s 1982 ‘Badda Dan Dem’ album for Studio One, the cover of which portrays Sir Coxsone at the controls of a spaceship with the DJ in space.• The tracks on ‘Studio One Space-Age Dub Special’ are mainly instrumental cuts with occasional snippets of original vocals brought into the mix. Lone Ranger’s complete vocals feature on ‘A Lie Gal A Tell’, a superb six minutes plus dubbed out piece of musical madness. Also included are a selection of rare dub versions that only ever appeared on rare singles. -
Danny T & Tradesman - Lazer Quest EP 12" Vinyl | Nice Up! Records
£12.99Taken from the recent "New Patterns" compilation on NICE UP!, "Lazer Quest" got such a reaction from DJs that we thought it only right to give it a full release of its own. Known previously for their dancehall & dub productions on labels such as Mungo's Hifi's Scotch Bonnet and Reggae Roast, the Leeds powerhouse duo of Danny T & Tradesman can also turn their hand to deep and devastating dubstep, harking back to their formative years in front of the speakers at Sub Dub."Lazer Quest" has already blown dances apart with its cavernous dub stylings and vintage wobble bass. On the flip we have 2 brand new tracks of equal weight and ferocity - firstly the snarky "Nobody Cares" featuring a ranting voicenote from their friend and collaborator Jakey Banton, again adding some vintage era wonkiness and sounding like a long lost Coki tune. Taking things even deeper, "Acid Wash" strips things back to an almost skeletal frame with echoes Eski style synths - one for the late night /early morning crew. -

An absolute whopper of a tune!Over on the flip is a brand new track "Juicy Juice" - basically what happens when you transplant Long Island over in Brooklyn and put Biggie on a roughneck beat instead of an soul/RnB joint. If you don't know now you know.... -
Cosmic Shuffling - Love In Portofino / The Shadow Of Your Smile 7" Fruits Records .
£10.00‘LOVE IN PORTOFINO’ is a 1958 Italian classic by Fred Buscaglione. As Jamaicans would covered in their own way sixties soul classics from the USA, Cosmic Shuffling gives a beautiful rocksteady rendition of this love song. It starts with a wistful guitar introduction, before the rhythm section and vocals enter on a cuban bolero inspired rhythm. Then the rocksteady groove sits in: bouncy drum and bass, sweet horns arrangement and a delightful pick guitar that will leave no one cold. Can you feel the Mediterranean summer breeze of Portofino’s harbor?B side of the record features jazz standard ‘THE SHADOW OF YOUR SMILE’ well known of rocksteady lovers thanks to Tommy McCook’s magical interpretation from 1967. Surprisingly, Jamaican artists never recorded a vocal version of the song. That’s why Cosmic Shuffling did its own version: a superb love letter between alto saxophone and vocals.Wait… was this really recorded in 2022?! A perfectly balanced retro-modern rocksteady record! Available on 7” vinyl record with pantone silver ink label. -
Cosmic Shuffling - Jupiter's Garden / Asteroid Field I 7" Fruits Records
£10.00In 2020, Cosmic Shuffling took the global rocksteady and ska scene by storm with its hit singles ‘Eastern Ska’ and ‘Short Break’ taken from the band first album “Magic Rocket Ship”. Highly acclaimed by the fans of sixties Jamaican sounds, this first album was sold out in a few weeks only. Now the band returns with brand new music!WARNING! This is original SKA music of the highest calibre. This new double A side 7” record will set the dancefloor on fire. ’JUPITER’S GARDEN’ is an heavy, slow and extremely groovy instrumental ska blown by a six-piece horns section. It is instantly reminiscent of Don Drummond's melancholic compositions with The Skatalites. The music made by these Jamaican legends in the sixties will never be equalled, but Cosmic Shuffling pays a striking tribute to the style and sound of the Greats. Ready to take off on an outerspace dancing journey? On the flip side, ‘ASTEROID FIELD I’ continues the journey through a zone of intense turbulence: the tempo becomes fiercer, the chords move away from traditional harmonies and the virtuoso soloists display their talent one after the other. All of this on a frenzied rhythm worthy of The Soul Brothers. You can’t miss this record. Double scorcher. Double fireball. Available on 7” vinyl record with pantone silver ink label. -
