Murray Man - Bible School Teachings / Jane Warriah 10" Indica Dubs
£11.95This is the first Indica Dubs release to feature the legendary Murray Man! ‘Bible School Teachings’ was recorded during early 2021 – and as always, Murray Man comes through with a serious message in the lyrics, topics regarding the current climate. ‘Time to Rearrange’ by Jane Warriah, also featuring for the first time on Indica Dubs, is a straight headshot to the Babylon system, calling for the youths to rise up and make a change! This vocal was originally recorded mid 2020 on another riddim by Indica Dubs - however the vibes from the vocals inspired this new riddim which you hear today!
The 10” contains 4 mixes in total; 2 vocals with 2 dub mixes. The dub mix on Side A has flying echoes with vocal bits, and the dub on Side B is totally raw instrumental dubwise! The riddim produced together by Indica Dubs & Forward Fever – whom together have produced hit songs such as Righteous Man, Let Jah, The Wisest Live Long and more. Guitars played by Liam from Partial Records. Mixed by Indica Dubs at the Indica Dubs studio. Mastered by the mighty Vibronics at the Dub Cupboard studio. -

Lee "Scratch" Perry & The 18th Parallel - Words From The Upsetter / Spring Thunderstorm 7" Fruits Re
£8.99As reggae lovers for decades, one Fruits Records biggest dreams was to collaborate with the creative genius behind the legendary sound of the Black Ark studio, one of the dub originators, the man responsible for shaping the sound of Bob Marley and the Wailers amongst many other greats, the mighty Upsetter, the unspeakable Lee “Scratch” Perry! That happy day has finally arrived in 2019 when Lee, who lived in Switzerland for a longtime, recorded his voice on The 18th Parallel’s ‘Cosmic Drop Riddim’.
The details around ‘Words From The Upsetter’ recording are not that common. In summer 2017, we at Fruits Records had the privilege to tour European festivals with Lee “Scratch” Perry as members of the Najavibes backing band. This is how we got to know the legend and start the production process. The first seed was sown. Nevertheless, the riddim track of the song was laid down in Kingston in 2014, as our crew of musicians – not known yet as The 18th Parallel – was recording our first release ever, A Little Walk album with the legendary Sino-Jamaican singer I Kong. The unused riddim slept in the hard drive for five years until we found the right artist to ride it. The Upsetter had that mystic vibes we were looking for, it was a perfect fit.
Then we spiced it up with a few more overdubs – analog string synthesizer, cosmic guitars, subtle sounds of musique concrète. Finally Roberto Sánchez brilliantly recreated the type of sound that the Black Ark was famous for: full of Mutron Bi-Phase, tape delay and spring reverb hits as testifies the dub version ‘Spring Thunderstorm’.
The production of this song has been a long and heavy process, but we're now able to present this brand new recording to the world. Sadly, Lee’s not physically here anymore to witness this release, but his musical legacy is so immeasurable that his memory will live forever in every music enthusiasts’ heart around the world. And this record is now a part of this legacy. We’ll be forever thankful for this opportunity and would like to give a special thanks to his family and friends (big up Dr. T!) who helped us and gave us assistance during the creative process. This record is dedicated to the loving memory of Lee “Scratch” Perry. Also available is the companion 45 on the same Cosmic Drop riddim featuring the legendary Studio One trombonist, Vin Gordon - Cosmic Drop / Yasus Afari - Healing Chant

Vin Gordon & The 18th Parallel - Cosmic Drop / Yasus Afari - Healing Chant 7" Fruits Records
£8.99Here's the companion vinyl on the Cosmic Drop riddim After the Lee "Scratch" Perry - Words From My Mouth / Spring Thunderstorm 7" (Available separately on 45)The ‘Cosmic Drop Riddim’ wouldn’t be fully completed without two extra unexpected cuts. The first one is an amazing instrumental song featuring Perry’s longtime friend and Jamaican number one trombonist Vin Gordon where trombone meets bass clarinet and bass flute to create a deep, foggy, mystical atmosphere. This will take you to a night journey to East Africa. The second cut highlights the art of dub poetry through the beautiful poem by Yasus Afari, ‘Healing Chant’.

Lee 'Scratch' Perry - Rainford LP On-U Sound
£19.99The mighty Upsetter returns with 9 brand new tracks recorded with longtime friend and collaborator Adrian Sherwood at the controls.
“It's the most intimate album Lee has ever made, but at the same time the musical ideas are very fresh. I'm extremely proud of what we've come up as a piece of work". - A.M.S
This new set is the culmination of over two years work and recording sessions that span Jamaica, Brazil and the UK. Determined to craft a work of lasting power, Sherwood likens to the album to the work that Rick Rubin did with Johnny Cash on the American Recordings series, a deeply personal work (the album title refers to Lee’s birth name) and arguably the strongest batch of original material that Perry has released for many years.
From the atmospheric field recording and wah-wah guitar of album opener “Cricket On The Moon”, to the gothic cello embellishment on “Let It Rain”, the chopped-and-compressed horn section of “Makumba Rock”, to the layered, carefully arranged backing vocals like a heavenly chorus throughout the record, this is an album with true love, care and attention poured into it’s every groove. It culminates in the truly extraordinary “Autobiography Of The Upsetter”, in which Scratch narrates the story of his life from growing up on a plantation in 1930s colonial Jamaica to becoming a worldwide musical superstar.
The story of Lee Perry and Adrian Sherwood collaborating stretches back to the mid-1980s, and a fortuitous meeting brokered by underground broadcasting legend Steve Barker between the dub innovator and UK upstart. This led to the creation of On-U classics such as Time Boom X De Devil Dead and The Mighty Upsetter, as well as Lee gracing Dub Syndicate records with some vital vocal injections. -
New Age Steppers - Love Forever LP On-U Sound
£19.99Love Forever was issued posthumously in 2012, following the untimely passing of Ari Up two years before.Like the preceding New Age Steppers album from 1983, it was started in Jamaica and completed in London, producer Adrian Sherwood wishing to complete the work they had started and to pay appropriate tribute to his longtime friend.
The original Steppers records were heavily influenced by the Jamaican music coming into the UK on import 12”s at the time, and Love Forever updates that approach, with nods to dancehall and bashment. Other tracks such as single “My Nerves” recall Ari Up’s work with The Slits, as well as more modern firebrands such as Atari Teenage Riot or Le Tigre. Dub Syndicate provide the backing on the irreverent “The Schiesse Song”, there are left turns into electro and harmony-laden fusion-pop, and final track “The Death Of The Trees” is a fitting instrumental elegy by Sherwood to his departed collaborator. This is the 2021 black vinyl Reissue! -
New Age Steppers - Foundation Steppers LP On-U Sound
£19.99The third New Age Steppers arrived in 1983 and marked a sea change in approach, a warmer sounding record than the two thrilling-but-abrasive LPs that had preceded it.
Part of this was down to frontwoman Ari Up moving to Jamaica and instigating proceedings with a session at the legendary Channel One with Style Scott and a JA horn section, before bringing the tapes back to London for Adrian Sherwood to work on. The other big factor was bringing in Bim Sherman to step up to the mic on several tracks, after interpreting some of his material on the previous albums. His distinctive croon works as the perfect foil to Ari’s own vocal takes, and the resulting album is perhaps the closest the collective got to laying down an album that is identifiably roots reggae, albeit still breaking tradition with colourful synth tones and a post-punk production sensibility. -
New Age Steppers - New Age Steppers LP On-U Sound
£19.99The landmark first album on the On-U Sound label, this self-titled debut announced a gathering of the tribes: producer Adrian Sherwood bringing together members of the Slits, the Pop Group, the Flying Lizards and the Raincoats and getting them to collaborate with the likes of the Roots Radics’ Style Scott, Creation Rebel’s Crucial Tony, and Aswad’s George Oban to form a potent post-punk/dub fusion.
The albums two highest peaks are brilliantly realised interpretations of Jamaican classics - Junior Byles’ “Fade Away” and Bim Sherman’s “Love Forever”, Ari Up’s vocal transporting the dread warning and lovers rock vibes to the icy hallways of early-80s London squatland. Elsewhere Mark Stewart marshalls an early version of his “Crazy Dreams and High Ideals” (later re-versioned with the Maffia), music journalist Vivien Goldman voices caustic album closer “Private Armies” (originally a b-side to her Launderette single), and all sorts of strange noises and rhythmic murk bridge the gaps, the instrumentals falling somewhere between a late night studio session at Channel One and the kinds of experimental soundscapes being explored at the time by Industrial Records.
A certified classic of the era back on wax for the first time in 40 years and an essential addition to any post-punk record collection. -

Answer 2021 Riddim - Luciano, Mikey General, Sr. Wilson, Johnny Go figure, DJ MADD 12" Dub-Stuy
£14.99After a year-long hiatus, Dub-Stuy heralds the return of good vibes with a new installment in their riddim series. This time, they take on one of the most iconic and instantly recognizable riddims in history with “Answer 2021 Riddim”. As usual, Dub-Stuy calls upon an international line-up of top features, led by legendary duo Luciano & Mikey General, Spain’s Sr Wilson and Brooklyn’s own Jonny GoFigure.
The Answer riddim, originally recorded by Clement “Coxsone” Dodd for Slim Smith in 1967, is undoubtedly one of the most versioned riddims of all time, and everyone from Dennis Brown to Frankie Paul has lent their hand to the tune. For this 2021 spin on the classic, DJ Madd invokes early digital productions ala Prince Jammy and Bobby Digital but with the signature Dub-Stuy twist: high-powered, heavyweight and minimalist production. Bouncy, rubber-band basslines and hypnotic snare hits make Answer 2021 Riddim danceable and upbeat, bringing to mind late summer nights dancing with friends as the selector rides the groove.
Leading the charge on the vocals, Luciano and Mikey General return to their top form, bringing us back to the heyday of late 90's roots revival. With their soaring harmonies and golden voices, “Redemption” calls for a return to conscious music while uplifting the listener, with an infectious hook. Sr. Wilson comes next, with his ‘Foodie session’, uniting the world over a shared love for street food cultures. Finally, hometown sensation Jonny GoFigure mashes up the dance lyrically on ‘A Different Answer’.
Answer 2021 isn’t just a riddim; It's a sonic cure to our collective anxiety in these uncertain times, bringing people together and inviting them to take a deep breath, close their eyes, and crank up their stereo.

U Roy - Solid Gold 2LP Trojan Jamaica
£25.00TROJAN JAMAICA / BMG is proud to announce the release of U-ROY’s final full-length, SOLID GOLD U-ROY. The double vinyl album (CD Released 16/07/21 and in stock now) was originally set to come out in 2020 with plans for a worldwide tour in support, but unfortunately, the pandemic delayed the release. Then, with the heartbreaking loss of U-ROY on February 17, 2021, the album has become a celebration of one of the most profoundly influential reggae stars of his generation. An originator of the chatty rhythmic vocal style known as toasting — a key foundational element in the development of rap in its nascent stages in the 1970s — U-ROY left behind an unmatched legacy which is clearly on display on SOLID GOLD U-ROY, with its guest appearances including ZIGGY MARLEY, SHAGGY, MICK JONES of THE CLASH, SANTIGOLD, SLY & ROBBIE, DAVID HINDS of STEEL PULSE, and more.
The Double Vinyl LP released on January 14, 2022. -

Linval Thompson - What's Going On / The 18th Parallel - Dub's Going On 7" Fruits Records
£8.49The 18th Parallel are back with three more singles starring three giant singers from the golden age of Jamaican roots reggae. From day one, Fruits Records main purpose has always been to enforce collaborations between Swiss musicians and Jamaican singers from the golden age of reggae. These three 7” singles mark a new step to achieve the label’s goal: connecting different generations from different cultures through their love of roots reggae.
The Third guest in this triptych of new releases of new Fruits Records 7inch vinyl, The 18th Parallel are honoured to have the one and only, singer, producer, roots icon: LINVAL THOMPSON. Linval has so many hit songs to his catalogue, it’s hard to pick just a few, but we can name ‘I Love Marijuana’ or ‘Jah Jah Is The Conqueror’ as the most typical of his unique style. An inimitable vocal signature, conscious lyrics, a super heavy rockers riddim dubbed in fine style by mæstro Roberto Sánchez. This is ‘What’s Going On’, the third single of this foundation rootsmen 7” series.

Dennis Walks - Long Struggling / The 18th Parallel - Edelvibes Rock 7" Fruits
£8.49The 18th Parallel are back with three more singles starring three giant singers from the golden age of Jamaican roots reggae. From day one, Fruits Records main purpose has always been to enforce collaborations between Swiss musicians and Jamaican singers from the golden age of reggae. These three 7” singles mark a new step to achieve the label’s goal: connecting different generations from different cultures through their love of roots reggae.
The second song of this triptic by The 18th Parallel features the voice known for legendary song ‘The Drifter’ originally recorded in 1969 on Moodisc and later recut by Dennis Brown: DENNIS WALKS. The Swiss producers met Dennis in downtown Kingston in winter 2017. They played a mid-seventies type of flying cymbal riddim to him and a few minutes later Dennis was in the recording booth singing ‘Long Struggling’. One take, no second cut, no lyrics written, pure heartical vibes. Dennis Walks, hidden treasure of the roots reggae era, is surely one of the greatest voice of Jamaica, stronger than ever at almost 70 years old. On the B side, The 18th Parallel grace us with a terrible instrumental cut led by melodica and Elka Rhapsody synthesizer. This is the Edelvibes Rock!

Mike Brooks - Mother Earth / The 18th Parallel - Earth Cry 7" Fruits Records
£8.49The 18th Parallel are back with three more singles starring three giant singers from the golden age of Jamaican roots reggae. From day one, Fruits Records main purpose has always been to enforce collaborations between Swiss musicians and Jamaican singers from the golden age of reggae. These three 7” singles mark a new step to achieve the label’s goal: connecting different generations from different cultures through their love of roots reggae.
The first guest singer invited by The 18th Parallel is MIKE BROOKS. Known for hit songs like ‘Rum Drinker’ or ‘Money Is Not All’, Mike is one of the true heroes of the roots reggae sound of the late 70’s: stepper riddims with militant drumming, heavy basslines, thunder of spring reverbs… This is the kind of sound The 18th Parallel recreated with a new riddim designed especially for Mike’s high-pitched voice. ‘Mother Earth’ has not only a strong riddim, but also a strong message, more relevant than ever. The song, written by Mike Brooks’ daughter, is a call for ecological awareness of the state the planet is in : « Mother Earth is crying out for help… ». Young and old, this song is for all of us. B side with ‘Earth Cry’ is a killer dub version by NY top producer and mixing engineer Channel Tubes. Wicked! -

Bukkha X Longfingah - Still Reppin' / Toni Wobble - Dub 7" Basscomesaveme
£8.99Basscomesaveme met Bukkha in winter 2019 on a session with the Basskateers in Jena. Soon it was clear that we gonna work together on a record release for BCSM. Bukkha is well known for his lush bass music productions and soon came up with a heavy steppers riddim. Instantly we imagined some upfront vocals on this one so we called none other than microphone matador Longfingah to ride on the riddim. Longfingah loved the tune and brought some nice lyrics in his
style and fashion to the production. Still Reppin' is made for soundsystem dances, shakin' up everything with his heavy bass and gives a big shoutout to all crews and veterans. Flip the record to explore a version by Plug Dub Soundsystems Toni Wobble,
who is taking the original production to another level by mixing an ultra heavy dub version in a Wobble style.
You are looking for a tune that will mash up any dance? Well, you can't go wrong with this one.
All tracks are mastered by sound expert LXC to guarantee you a fresh bass shower. -

Seekersinternational - Presents Ragga Preservation Society: Worldwide Sound LP
£22.99The enigmatic Manila-via-British Columbia ensemble SeekersInternational returns to Tokyo-based label Diskotopia for the follow up to 2016's Ragga Preservation Society. SeekersInternational Presents Ragga Preservation Society – Worldwide Sound comes after a prolific five-year creative journey exploring different sonic avenues across releases on Future Times, Ossia's No Corner, Bokeh Versions, Berceuse Heroique, ICS Library Records, and Never Sleep, in addition to an acclaimed FACT magazine mix in 2017.
This time the SeekersInternational crew are back with some collaborators—namely, Roger Robinson as Papa Robbie on Kill-A-Milli, Second Woman (Joshua Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv & Belong's Turk Dietrich), wzrdyAV, and the late DJ Wundrkut, who heartbreakingly passed on to the next world a month before the release.
The direction of Worldwide Sound takes the original Ragga Preservation Society record's Mark Leckey meets Hype Williams approach to jungle dubs, radio rips, and soundclash tape samples—reaping Canada's large ex-pat Jamaican community's rich history of ragga-jungle—and douses it in high-octane rave & hardcore petrol before setting the whole thing alight to create a technicolor soundsystem polymetric fever dream. High-paced and restless, chopped and screwed beyond belief—for those looking to transcend to higher frequencies right now, you cannot afford to sleep on this unparalleled release.
